    Windows 7 threats

Not sure if its hypersentive software, or if there is a real problem. Over the last month or so Windows 7 throws up a flag when I open up HF. And then says a report has been sent to MS about HF being a threat.

It always refers to a specific file that has no bulletin file names or any "hammock forums" within the text of the file itself.

I've been running Windows 7 since one of the release candidates a year or so ago. I've never seen that error. Can you take a screen shot of it?

press alt - print screen -- paste into ms paint -- save as jpeg -- upload here
I have heard your confession I know who you blame
If you had it all back you'd just lose it again

I was using my new netbook with windows 7 at Turtle Lady's last week and got no error. Can't use my air card with it (no pcmcia slot) so haven't tried getting here on that machine since.

Opie, I've had the same problem from my work computer. I think we operate with Windows 7 too. Of course I only access HF when on break or lunch! I've been getting some viruses too, which our IT people have fixed. I have no idea where they came from.

I haven't gotten that message when I use Firefox.

Folks, let's please keep this topic related to the OP's error directly. Operating system debates and Browser-comparisons are unfortunately outside the bounds of this topic.

This particular subforum will be kept strictly on topic.

The issue is more than likely a Firewall or Antivirus, and it's most likely the native Microsoft version. It could also be some form of malware.

Solutions: Disable the Microsoft Firewall and/or Antivirus. Install some sort of Anti-Malware Software and a less invasive Antivirus, as well as CCleaner (highly recommended).

I run AVGFree and have Ccleaner set to run everytime I power up.

Its not really THAT big of an issue. Its being caught and prevented... It the "were sending a message to Microsoft that HF is being labeled as a threat."

Nothing has happened to my files and no infection.... Just an interesting thing to have it pop up and turn the navigation bar red... pretty colors.
