Stuff sack for hammock + UQ?

To have quicker and easier setup and take-down I would like a single stuff sack for my hammock and underquilt.
I'm as good with a sewing machine as I am at underwater pole vaulting, so I will have to ask someone to make the right size for me. I can't make a few size iterations myself.

To determine the volume needed for that stuff sack, should I just measure the volume of each current stuff sack and add 'em up? Or are there other considerations that I haven't thought of for a combo stuff sack like that?

Have you considered just picking up a compression sack?

I'd make a largish single sleeve snake skin. And I'd slowly whittle it down until it can accommodate your gear without being overly roomy. But the tighter the snake skin gets, the harder it is to fold and stuff away nice and tidy.

The best way I have found to measure the volume is to stuff everything into a large plastic bag. Once stuffed, you can expel some of the air and knead it into the approx size and tightness you're looking for. Then just take you measurements and you should be all set.

Dream Hammock sells custom stuff sacks in your choice of size and fabric on our accessories page.

I just use my backpack as the sack. I have the hammock, UQ and TQ all together stuffed into a compactor bag in my ULA Catalyst. Works great for hiking or car camping. Hang suspension, attach then pull out as I walk to the other tree. Literally a matter of minutes to set up, not that speed is important, just a sidebar. There is the obligatory tweaking once hung and tested but easy peasy.

Just a suggestion. Oh, and I don't store that way long term. Just for the travel portion. Otherwise the downy bits are hung loose and free.

Here's what I do - this photo is a Jarbridge UQ/Hammock/Sock rolled up, but I have also rolled my TQ and sleep clothing up in the same manor:

It's a 'soft' tyvek sock that doubles as a snake skin type enclosure:

No sewing - cut out the pattern and use tyvek tape to hold seams together.
I've used it over a year now - both winter and summer - and it is my favorite weather protection. Allows for a small tarp.
8.5 oz but a little bulky (compared to a nylon).
    I used Just Jeff's Sock (version 2) as a starting point. http://www.tothewoods.net/HomemadeGearHammockSock.html
Let me know if you are at all interested and I'll dig up more info for you.

P.S. I have also tried using my 1.1 oz nylon UQP as a stuff sack but the nylon is too slippery to allow for rolling it up and holding as a tight package.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

I believe that a compression sack or compactor bag acting as compression sack is the best solution for me.

I made a blackbishop's Sack out of an old sleeping bag stuff sack. I used these instructions: http://www.tothewoods.net/HomemadeGe...ishopSack.html

I use a 30L Granite Gear compression sack. Holds my assembled hammock, suspension, 20* TQ, 20* UQ, bug net and UQ protector.
Fits into a Granite Gear vc 60 Crown back pack with room left for clothes, food, cook kit. Average about 28# for 5 days out.

Wrap a tree strap, hook on & walk back to the anchor tree. Set up is about 2 minutes tops. Add a few more for the tarp I carry on the outside of the pack.
