    I thought about this same thing the first time I set up. I wound up clipping one of my carabiners from the end of the tree hugger through the triangular adjustment rings as well so I would know which end was which.

    Now, if I can only remember if I did that on the head.. or foot end.

    Some good ideas here.. I like the idea of the different colored cord-locks... and drawstring colors.

    Red(string or sharpie mark whatever is handy) on the head!

    On my HH tarp, I wrote H,F,R,L(with Sharpie) on each appropriate end or side pull out. That thing drove me crazy at first!

    Sometimes I use an even easier technique: use a hammock with no head or foot! Like a JRB or Claytor No Net!

    Just a knot on the end of the line at the head end, and leave the last couple inches of line out of the bag each end
