    Overkill?

Suppose this would get you through one of those "Frozen Butt" hangs?

looks like that down would fill three sleeping bags that size. Definitely looks uncomfortable. I can't imagine being cold enough to need that kind of sleeping bag, but then I am from florida.

Wow! The little brother from A Christmas Story comes to mind.

The law of diminishing returns has to come in play with that much down. Compression becomes an issue.

If you can afford that sleeping bag, why not hire a sherpa to bring a heater for you!

    Hang on!

$3200?!?! ...and $147 shipping? No thanks!

Not sure how you'd transport this to your campsite - doesn't look like you could even fold it without ripping seams!

Maybe that's why the shipping is so high - must be shipped in a coffin.

This is actually the second time I've seen that come up on ebay. Last time the bidding started at closer to $3000 and had a buy it now of $4,000. If you figure 15" of loft actually means 7.5" per layer, it should be theoretically rated to -100°F or so. With that kind of density though, it's probably good for even colder temps (fwiw, the coldest recorded temp on earth was estimated at -135.8F, although around -126°F was the coldest ever confirmed by a ground measurement).

Reminds me of the sta puff marshmallow man from Ghost Busters.

When this surfaced a month ago I politely asked the seller what the story behind the bag was...no answer

That's just bizarre. I wonder if FF could tell you what the heck? I'm thinking the Law of Diminishing Returns applies here...
