High Hanging in the Colorado Rockies, Deaux

Hi All, I just made another overnighter with my JRB Bear Mtn Bridge hammock here in the Rockies. I hiked up to Beartrack Lake in the Mt Evans Wilderness Area just west of Evergreen, CO. This was my first trip into the Mt Evans location and it was very impressive. Also... right next door in a manner of speaking. The video shows some details of the hammock and JRB tarp. I like doing these little videos so I hope everyone enjoys seeing them.

I went up to Beartrack right after I moved here last summer; enjoyed it quite a bit. Soooo glad to see other hangers in Colorado.

Cannibal... The feeling is mutual. Did you fish when you were at Beartrack? I'd love to see your gear list for lightweight ideas.

kmat... I use an older model Sony Cyber-shot.

Pan... This trip was warmer than my previous ones. I don't carry a thermometer but I doubt it got below the mid-40s. Your down gear kept me warm even though I was dumb enough to make this hike on an empty stomach which, when combined with fatigue, usually makes you sleep pretty cold at higher elevations. I know better than to do this but just forgot! I plan to keep going out until the snow flies and since everywhere I want to see is up around timberline, I'll be happy to keep 'testing' your excellent gear during some much colder temps. Maybe I'll have to buy another quilt to double up beneath later on!

I'd also like to mention one of my favorite things about hammocking. I love having everything packed away and, more importantly, off the ground and under shelter for the night. This is extremely easy to do with a hammock and tarp support system.
