I really hope to be there, but if the weather/roads are bad, I'll have to sit this one out...not doing a 6 hour one-way drive in bad conditions.
I can appreciate the weather issues; I guess we really never know until you get a week out. Seem's like, at that point, that you can get a feel for what's coming.
I hope it works out for everyone. Not sure what the highest number has been for this group but it would be great to have a large group so we an "own" that mountain! It's fun seeing all of the different gear and meeting everyone. Looks like there's a lot of trail to explore! Did a bunch of test burns last night as part of the process of rebuilding my cook kit; the kid's seen to have a strange look on their face as they watch their Dad on his hands and knees in the basedment boiling 2 cups of cold water, over and over and over and over again!

I am pretty excited as well, just finished all the baffles on the UQ and just waiting on the down.. Can't wait to get out again! Very excited to use all my new stuff; tarp, suspension etc.
I'll try to make this one. Looks like fun!
The wife and I can make so we will see you there. Macpaks if its too cold there is the shelter house with fireplaces on both ends.
11 days out and can't wait; was able to get out on a night hike/hang with a new friend to check out some of his DIY stuff; he'll be selling stuff withing a year or two (my prediction). Experiemented with an esbit stove for the first time and had my first Hawk Vittles meal.
Disco; from what I'm reading, it sounds like the view from shelter 1 is the best. When we hike up, we should be able to check out all three of the shelters and the backpacking camp 1. That early, we should still have a choice if we decide to hang near a shelter.
Does anyone know if there's water near backpacking camp 1?

I will have to finish up all the loose ends (literally) on all that stuff, then I would love to upgrade and sell my DIY stuff! I have a ground dweller that really wants to come on this trip as well! Gideon, this is the guy that I was supposed to camp with last weekend, hopefully we can convert him to a hanger! Then I would have someone that would really be in the market for some gear!
I also can't wait for this trip! I will not be able to get off work thoughI would be coming out after that (I get off at 12:00 noon)
12:00 isn't a problem DC; it's a short hike in and we'll be an easy group to find! I hope your friend makes it; it'll be a great time but also a good chance for him to see a wide variety of hammock/camping gear.
