What is your ideal season or temperature range for hammock camping?

I have hung in temps from 6 to 95, walked in weather from a midwest T-storm with 50+ MPH gusts, to dead calm - 90+ degrees & 100% humidity, under blazing sun & week long overcast. But I think my favorite has to be Winter. To the point I have said (partially joking): "There are 2 seasons: Springsummerfall and Hiking!"

I also STRONGLY feel that my worst day hiking beat "hands down" my best day at work! BTW, I nearly died on the "bad hiking day", & I still had a better time than during my "good day" at work.

im commited to all year hanging, and geared up to do +/- 20° low and up. iirc, the "highest" low i slept in was 63°
the arid southwest gets cool at night, even in summer. in order to sleep at 80° id have to hike in 110 - no thanks

its nice to have the variety here that i can hike all year and maintain about 40° for a low all year long
when temps in Phoenix hit 109° i just drive 2 hours and backpack at 8000' and when temps around here are 30° for a low (about 2x per year) i stay down in the desert canyons, like the superstition wilderness, western side.
Just for fun we like to do a couple of cold weather hikes and up in AZ's mountains @ 11,000' it can get downright cold.. last year we spent a night at 7,500' on Knoll lake (frozen at the time) and the low was about 22° - my coldest night in the hammock, but i feel now after several months i am prepared gear-wise to get into the high teens without worry.

Anywhere from 30-50 at night and highs in 70s-80s. With the occasional sub-zero trip thrown in just for variety.

Same. 85ish on the high side and 30 on the low.

Living in the desert southwest, the optimum season for backpacking is late fall to early spring. I'm really anxious to do some 'hanging' where I used to 'ground grovel'. Optimum daytime temperature is 55-75F. As long as nightime temps don't go much below 30F, I'm happy.

ive gotta meet you fellow Zonie so we can go to all the great places ive been introduced to lately, right here about 2-3 hour drive from the valley we can find temps around 78-80 in mid-July.

I'm a diehard Superstition Wilderness fan. I go to the Coconinos, White mountains or Mt. Lemmon in the summer to escape the heat ... but come late September I'll be in the Eastern Sups. Then when Fall actually hits the Western Sups I'll be doing all my favorite haunts. Maybe our paths will cross someday. This weekend it's Flagstaff ... to take my daughter to NAU as well as do a dayhike on Mt. Elden or ??? Haven't decided.
