    They are making snow on the slopes. Temps were in the 20's with 20- 30 mile winds. Just plain miserable kind of cold.

    But was not hanging, so who cares?

    I wouldn't put much stock in that when packing my backpack. A quick look shows summits over 6000 around here only being 6 degrees cooler than Knoxville which is less than 900 feet. My experience with Mountain Forecast on local mountains is about 10-15 degrees off.

    Agreed! I put my stock in my kit,,a little heavy , but loaded for bear! Earlier this week they were predicting a wind chill of -53 this Saturday. How has your experience with the reliability of their windspeed forecasts? That would be my main concern. 60mph forecasted for Tuesday night is the furthest out right now.
