It was great to meet new and "seasoned" folks out at Fairfield last weekend. Thanks to Derek who simplified, tightened and lightened my camo tarp suspension, handing me several (now surplus) prusik knots and two carabiners - see below. And, of course, mega-kudos to UncleMJM for hosting a very successful event.
I had a great time and my grandson had one to. He went so hard all day Saturday that after dinner and a shower he was out and the only times he woke up the entire night was when i had to get up for the call of nature the he was right back out. Thanks to everyone for keeping an eye out for him. he is a fast little mover and had so much he wanted to see and get into. I was so glad to get to see the many different items set up all over that i had not gotten to see before. My friend Kenny that came with me had a great time and said to thank everyone for making him feel so welcome. this was his second hang and he is looking to many more. I keep telling him to join the forum so he may soon. so many good things at a hang like this that it is hard to put into words. Thank you all and hope to see you on the trail and of course next years hang.
Uncle Mike graciously and generously prepared a great breakfast for us Saturday morning:

Mike, Jan & I had a really great time. Thanks so much for all the hard work. Could not imagine it could get any better. See you again next year.
I just wanted to say thanks to Sarge for the cool cookset that Sarah won in the prize drawing. She now has a good reason to try it out.
The whole family had a great time, and we will look forward to doing it again.
I missed out on the advice being given out by Derek, and the others, our hang was sort of on the "Hill billy" side of things.
We did appreciate the baked potatoes and corn the first night as we set up in the dark.
The next morning we had a good visit with River rat and young river rat.
A few pics,
Munching on Mike's breakfast!
