Several places that I have been in HNF during winter. I was with Mule and several others in early December when we went to Nebo ridge (just outside Nashville IN/Brown Co SP). Only a few miles hike in and we were blessed with a little snow when we woke up.

I've also hiked some of the Adventure Hiking Trail and it's nice any time of year. I think the entire trail is 26 miles or so, but I did a 4-5 mile overnight with my 2 sons and they both did really well (they are 6 and 11).

Another trail I really like is the Two Lakes Loop down near Tell City. It is a 15 mile loop that can be shortened somewhat. Great trail in fall/winter/early spring when there is nobody else out there with you. Can be a pretty crowded area in season.

As always, wear orange because hunters are out all over the place down here. Hope you get to make it down to any one of the great trails thatSouthern Indiana has to offer. Keep us posted on this site if you do.

Sunny and 47° down south this weekend! The warm weather really screwed up my snowshoeing plans up north this weekend, so I figured I would take a "spring" trip down south. Crazy weather. Not sure.

Probably do a hang at the Blood Root in February if it's wintry enough .

I'd be good with any of these. I'd take Deam over MM. I've wanted to get to Blood Root - it's on the list. I'm probably going to hit Deam this Fri and/or Sat. I'd rather it be winter - but it's hard to pass up 45* and sunny.

HAHA I've been contemplating that this weekend too. I think it was cooler when I went in early November.

Or up north for a temp rollercoaster...still a day to decide!
