Detail question on SRL Attachment point

    OK...

Gathered end hammock with continuous loops through ends.
Amstel leads through the loops to Hammockfan Anchors.

Would you tie your Structural Ridgeline around the Continuous Loops or is it more correct for the SRL to attach at the same point that the Loops attach to?
It is only a matter of inches on each end but one way puts the load of the SRL on the continuous Loops and the other isolates it to the Leads.

It seems to me that you want the load to go end to end straight to the anchors.
But I thought I would check with the smart people here

    Here it is both ways
On the anchor keeps it up higher...nice for bugnets and organizers

On the continuous loop is faster set up.
But structurally not consistent as it would sag when getting into the hammock?

Here it is with soft shackle (probably a good idea for bugnets/UQ Peapod use)

I would locate the RL to the running leg of your CL. This way is is set and doesn't need to be slung or adjusted every time you hang it simplifies the hang. if you are still tweaking your RL length, then leave it adjustable and swap out or leave the adjustable RL in.

I don't know that there is anything wrong with this set-up but I am a proponent of K.I.S.S, me being the stupid one...

    Thanks for the info.

That Arrowhead makes sense but then your SRL isn't removable without taking your Hammock down.
I'll likely end up springing for one or two Dutchware Ridgeline Biners..only 2g each.

Just out of curiosity in what context would you see yourself wanting to remove the ridge line, while the hammock is hanging?

run the ridgeline THROUGH the gathered material from the inside of the hammock to the outside of the hammock. RUn the Continuous loop THROUGH the fixed eye of the SRL. Hang. Enjoy.

I have experimented with a "Pea Pod" using a Sleeping bag.
The way it is made, I have to slide it onto the foot end of the hammock.
Stuffing the whole hammock with Peapod in place would make it a non-issue.

The other thing that came up before (won't now as I am changing the set up) was that I had a Bugnet that was made to hang from a ridgeline.
Assembly was a nuisance with the Peapod and the bugnet and the SRL.
