Some day I would like to organize a clean up. It would be a lot of work, but I always find trash everywhere. This time I found a stack of 5-gallon buckets, a rusty shovel, big plastic bag, spam cans, at least 8 beer cans, in addition to the towels and underwear already mentioned. Come on people!

That's been a problem for years. There was a time when there was a group that would get together every couple of months or so and go do some clean up out there, but I'm not sure if that is still going on or not.

That's it! It's the closest "nice" place for me at 3hrs. But that's OK...keeps me from going all the time and getting bored.

Creeks are unreliable for water, but you can usually find at least a decent puddle to get water from. Or pull up a satellite image on google and locate the round ponds, they show up well. The standing water looks pretty sketchy, so I always filter with my sawyer, then throw in a MP1 (chlorine dioxide) tablet just to be safe. Stupid horses (sorry horse owners) ruin most of the trails and leave poop everywhere, but you can't make everyone happy I guess. Such a cool place though, check it out!

What are you using for your pot lid and windscreen?

I cut a piece from a turkey roaster pan lid. You can you any type or even a foil pie pan. But I like the lid since iyou can get several flat, consistent pieces from it for about $1.99.

It would be great to get down there soon, but with a 3-month baby at home I can't push my luck with the wife Hope she's OK with me doing a couple winter trips once the snow piles up north!
