I wouldn't recommend any shorter than 5 feet of zipper or else you risk the chance of tearing everything when you get in your hammock and realize that your thighs are pulling the zipper wide open.

Pardon the terrible quality (and the mess). I needed to adjust the photo since the black is hard to see.

The zipper is sewn directly on the seam where the mesh meets the argon. I tied 1.75 Lash-It from Dutch to use as zipper pulls. And what would this photo be without paying a little tribute to Donna? Yes, that's my new 2QZQ ridgeline organizer at the top corner.

Lastly I got a mini cord lock and some Lash-It and put it around the tapered end. Even if the hole is small I noticed there's a slight gap and I didn't want to risk anything getting in. Having it cinched tight gives me a sense of ease. Total weight added from this: No clue wouldn't register on my scale.

Here's a few photos. It's a little tight around the UQ on my HH Ultralite Explorer. I'm going to put a adjustable ridgeline on to play with it. But I think this will work fine.

Dutch lists weight of sock at 187 grams, but not clear which version corresponds to that weight.

What is the weight of 10' and 11' winter socks?

    ---------------------
Nevermind -- I see weights are listed differently when different socks are selected on his web site.

Thanks for the picts. Picture 2 and 3 looks pretty tight. Is your UQ being compressed? That would not be a good thing.

Yes it is tight, I adjusted the ridge line and that solved that problem but last night I tried sleeping outside and had a problem I started to get
claustrophobic and had to bale out. Anyone else have this problem. If so what do you do? I'm going to try my larger hammock and just pull the sock up to my shoulders and try that. If that doesn't work I'll be selling the sock.

I am definitely more comfortable in my Kammock Roo inside the sock vs a smaller single-person hammock. The wider width gives me the ability to lay more diagonally which in turn widens the walls of the sock surrounding me. Gives the perception that you have more space inside. Also I would pull the tapered end and cinched ends closer to each other to loosen up the fabric. Down to the shoulders might be a little overkill, plus you'll have so many gaps around your head that anything can get in there. At least that's what has happened to me. That's another reason why I put a zipper on mine, so I can get a general idea of how tight or loose the fabric of the sock is fully set up before I get inside.

Oh yeah! I had a panic attack (claustrophobia) when I first got my wbbb and put a top cover on it.
Something startled me and wokeup to this(see pict below) and had to do a panic bail.
Once out I was fine and I got back in and haven't had one since.

When I saw Dutch's video I could not see an UQ and though this sock might be tight with one.
I asked this question back on page 6 post#54 but got no answer.
