Looks like a polyurethane coated synthetic (nylon?) basketweave textile in a low denier.

Keep in mind it won't be like carrying 1.1oz or 1.9oz sil-ripstop but should make a near bullet proof tarp. Driving it around in your car, you could very well build your own command center with it and survive hurricanes or floods (folding canvas style boat).

If you retook that first picture and place some type of common object in there for scale (a US dime perhaps), one of the masters here might be able to tell you an approximate denier weight.

I still don't quite understand the relationship between what the oz/yd measure vs denier is on the lower scale.

I seem to recall, I thought at one point, that a 70denier would be in the high 2.x/yd area.

It is heavy compared to my hammock ripstop. I may purchase some for a good car camping tarp for one of my non-hiking, soon to be hammock-hanging friends.

I believe it was charcoal, near Tutwiler Farms.
One day I'll come up with a clever sig.

My wife found some of this today, almost 10 yards!! I guess it's time to learn to sew. It seems pretty breathable, so I might try a gathered end hammock. At $1.50 per yard, I won't feel bad if I mess it up.

What is the width on this fabric??? I'm looking for something like this to use in making a cover for my hunting boat. I need at least 60-inch width so I can run a single seam down the middle.

    Hammocks out of this stuff?

I picked some of this up and made a gathered end hammock out of it. It is pretty tough stuff and doesn't fray a bit at the edges. I'm not concerned too much with weight, so I think I will give it a try in the field soon.

I would love to know more about it, if someone figures anything out.

    Approximate "weight"

If someone has the digital camo material and a reference sample of something they know the weight of, can you give me an idea on the camo? 1.9? 2.2?
    Any guesses?

Should work, my guess is 1.9, I've hung in a LOT thinner material, and I'm kinda heavy.
