Those polycro window kits are meant to be mounted on the inside so should not be subject to wind, rain, and storms.

It's not sturdy enough for a tarp but works well in protected places like under a tarp or bug net. I live in windy West Texas. As peak beaks and an UQ protector it's light and effective.

Some use it as a ground cloth. I wouldn't because I'm fairly clumsy due to injuries and would surely puncture it.

The tarp is not something you want to fail in a storm.

It's like sailing. The heavier the weather the tougher the material needs to be. My winter set-up has a PU coated Noah's Tarp 12. Feel very secure under it.

You know you could do more with some tyvek. Just saying.

My hiking buddy and I bought some off of craigslist for next to nothing. Gromet kit and you're ready to make a tarp.

The possibilities with this stuff is endless to what you can make with it.

Best part it can be folded up and packed into a zip lock freezer bag.
