    RBTR Multicam 1.1 silnylon

The silnylon Multicam is the fabric i've been looking for forever. Im glad to see that RBTR has gotten the ball rolling on this fabric, but that price OUCH! $17.50 a yard. I know it's still in production, but does anyone have an image or an idea of what this stuff actually looks like in a big sheet? I am looking to avoid an obvious pattern repeat like that of the silargon camo, and it'd be nice to see what this stuff actually looks like before dropping $17.50 a yard on some serious fabric.

Any print you get is going to have repeat. The most common method of print uses 5-6' long aluminium tubes called screens.. One for each color. Dye is pumped into the middle of the screen, and a magnetic pressure bar pushes the dye through the screen.

The repeat pattern varies on the circumferance of the screens, but typically ranges from 24-36".

What RBTR sells is licensed multicam which is why it's so expensive. It the camoflague equivalent of printing Mickey Mouse, and having to give Disney a cut of the price. But being a licensed camo pattern you can bet on one thing:

It'll look like any other multicam.. So just look at anything else multicam to get an idea.

Just be aware, the colors will be slightly off, as quality control on the color is done before the fabric is coated with silicone. The Sil will typically darken the colors slightly.

Interesting, I did not know about the screens. I always wondered how they injected the dye. Fabric repeat yes, I have made some very expensive errors involving fabric repeats.

I would ask kyle to take a pic of 5 or so yards of the multicam Sil laid out.

Other than that, I've got 20 or so yards of Epsilon in a box, if you'd like to see a picture of that. Being a licensed pattern they *should* be the same

Don't quote me, but I believe Kyle got pretty specific with the multi-cam details in his introduction of the fabric. See if you can look back to the thread.

The pattern is the same as epsilon as far as I can tell. No horizontal repeat and lengthwise repeat about every 25". Will post another pic of that later. The 1.1 oz MC is about 3.5" wider though.

Some others basically answered this already, but I'll confirm that the pattern repeat is just like any other genuine Multicam such as Epsilon, Zeta, etc. To get an idea of the repeat on a tarp sized panel, you could check out the 1.9 oz PU tarp that Warbonnet currently does. Also check out the pic I posted in the announcement thread (someone posted a link w/ pic already). The MC sil will be a coated version of this material.
