Looking forward to hanging in the cold!

Hi everyone, I'm a new forum member but I've been hanging for a while. Up until now, I've mostly used my hammock in the warmer seasons but I'm starting to think about getting set up for cold weather hanging. I'm looking forward to reading deeper on this site. I can tell there is a lot of hard-won wisdom here.

First thing I'm looking for is some patterns for an underquilt for my hammock. I'm thinking of taking a 0 deg down bag that I never use and turning it into an underquilt.

I'm also looking for advice on a winter tarp to give me more protection than the stock HH tarp I've been using.

Anyway, just figured I'd say hello!

Winter is probably my favorite time to camp!

I think you'd be covered sufficiently with a Warbonnet Superfly or Hammock Gear Standard Cuben with doors or Winter Palace

I use the HG Standard Cuben with doors and my sons use the Warbonnet Superfly. Both awesome tarps and highly recommended 'round here.

Depends on budget, weight you're willing to carry etc.

I shut down my backpacking season when they come out. Yes, seriosuly! I'm a mosquito magnet.

Looking forward to this winter. I try to get out when there's at least a foot of snow and highs well under 30° or else it's just another cool fall/spring trip for me.
