    DIY webbing suspension

Pics of the webbing part of my suspension system. I sewed a loop in one end and I simply wrap the sewn end around the tree and then run the non-sewn end through the loop. I've seen variations of this using a biner on the loop, but I'm not what the purpose is. It appears the biner is not really needed.

The non-sewn end runs through a set of D-rings that are attached to my hammock. I've found this set up to be easliy adjustable, and so far I've had no issues with slippage.

    Thanks for viewing.

The purpose of the biner is to allow one to keep the webbing threaded through the D rings all the time. So instead of putting the strap around the tree, pulling it through the loop, walking over to the hammock, threading it through the rings, and then adjusting the hammock, all one has to do is to put the strap around the tree, clip on the biner, and adjust the webbing as necessary. Saves a bit of time during setup and takedown at the expense of carrying two extra biners.
