I don't think it would be a good idea to use a washing machine and dryer, but I do have some jackets and other gear made from ripstop that go into the washer ever so often with no ill effects.

The reason I ask is because I have used my HH many times and it can get pretty sweaty in the summer months. I also took a nap in my HH clone yesterday and it got pretty warm and I got a little sweaty also.
handwashing with ordinary laundry detergent and a few minutes in a spin dryer is sufficient. Hang to dry preferably under a shade. Nylon is affected by high temperature if using gas or electric heating element in your dryer. Direct exposure to the sun destroys the fabric too
