Do you change from time to time because it seems like i could buy the eno guardian bug net for about 10 dollars more then cost or materials with that price

Yeah, not much of a price difference, but if you factor in the pride of crafting your own stuff and the fact that the finished product is likely to weigh much less than the Guardian, it's close to a wash in my book.

Nobody ever said DIY was cheap, just has the possibility of being less expensive.

    bug netting

My latest bug netting has been Coghlans rectangular mosquito net. It probably is not as durable as the noseeum stuff from thru hiker but it is pretty strong and it is lighter and it lets breezes pass though it better. It is pretty cheap to. It is more of a DIY project though. YMMV

My walmart has a few different types of netting. Or try one of these. You should be able to find them at an outdoor store near you.

None. I just cut the seams out and had a very large piece of netting left over. Making it hammock worthy was not as hard as fitting it to the hammock and adding zippers...that took some time. All I did was double it over where ever I sewed and put down two lines of stitching. Seems to be holding well enough. I am just always careful with bug netting.

For my DIY design I needed wider that 54in and I wanted black which turned out to be hard to find. The only option I found was www.mosquitocurtains.com. They have noseeum in 12ft width by the foot. I just ordered enough for the width I needed. Very good quality stuff.
