Calling all fair-weather hikers! What's up with all the "frozen this and frozen that" events? Here's a plan to hike the Superior Hiking Trail during the best season of the year, late August to September. This is a group hang combined with a thru-hike, maybe starting in the southern terminus in Martin Road, and making our way towards Canada. Target date: August 22
All hammock hangers, from newbies to old hands, are welcome to join and stay as long or as short as they want. Go the entire 255 miles, or drop off at a convenient location. We are announcing this way ahead of time, so that those intending to thru-hike have ample time to prepare. Plans are flexible, and may involve reaching a certain point NOBO, then shuttling to the northern terminus near Otter Road, and finishing the thru SOBO. We'll be happy to receive suggestions from those experienced in hiking the SHT.
