    Marlin spike hitch for guylines.

Here is a short video that shows how I like to secure my guylines. Lots of different methods out there so of course, HYOH.

I am SOO busted! LOL. No you should not. I was using the shock cord tieouts from a blackbird I am borrowing and a dowel rod for supporting a wedding cake for my props. And no, I will not be getting work anytime soon as a hand model .

Ya know, this is an excellend idea. I've used Figure 9's on the end of MSR Ground Hogs and a clove hitch (my current method), but I wouldn't have thought of using a Marlinspike Hitch. Thanks for sharing, SC. I'll definitely give this method a go on my next hang. I never ceased to be amazed by the ingenuity and creativity of HF members.

Is it hard eating wedding cake with chops sticks while in a hammock? Do you leave the chop sticks tied to the tarp while you eat or do you just let the tarp flap until you're done?

It is chocolate cake with rice filling. The chopsticks are obviously for the rice.

I am pretty sure I stole the idea from someone else. Glad you like it. I am all about doing things as simple as possible.

I only eat the cake when it is not raining so I do not have a need for the tarp and therefore can use the chopsticks.

    Anyone else? Bring it on...

Just goes to show that you can use a good knot for just about anything. Nice use of it Stormcrow.

Chopsticks for rice cake? I thought the chopsticks were for the slugs....
