Yup. Bed quilts are full of feathers. There's some down, but it's really poor quality. Granted, that's the norm, and maybe, just maybe, this is real 750fp - but you know the saying...

The price was actually $25.95
So it's the quality? Prickly feathers sticking through the fabric, less loft, etc..?
If the down is really truly 750 fp I would expect it to have a lot fewer feathers than 650 fp. The JRB quilts are 800 fp, and I have yet to see any feather poke throughs. The three times I have found one, I was able to pull the down (it wasn't a feather) back in.
In down, you get what you pay for. Look at Speer as well - 900 fp, $30 for 3.1 ozs. Higher quality means more loft, more compressibility and warmth for less down.
Thnaks for the input. I'm a believer in "you get what you pay for" so I figured there was a difference. Now I know what it is. Thanks for the edjamacation and I appologize for the temporary redirection of the thread. Thanks again.
That looks like a great find on the 750fp down comforter. Is it just me or does it sounds odd to have over 3 lbs of such high loft down in a single comforter? Good price though.
I thought thruhiker down was around $26/lb. I just bought 2lbs of 800fp down for ~$200. It is about the best deal I have been able to find.

I use this place. Their website is Terrible with a capital "T" so dont bother with browsing it. If you are interested, just call. I have on occasion tried to make a group buy in the past but most of the time people are cool with our local suppliers. Nothing against them, I just ordered some stuff from Ed today, but I just have to be cost conscience these days.
Even though it is a Canadian company, and there are exchange rates and customs charges it is till pretty cheap. It actually starts out as $73/lb. The two pounds comes in the bottom of a bag meant to hold 20 pounds so it can get messy (another thing people do not seem to care for). Anyway, that is where I get it.
Looks like I will be a quilt making fool this coming up weekend!

I'd be a bit leary of those claims too; 750fp & 3 lbs of it in one comforter!!! Sounds like they started with 750fp but then added feathers to that. They could still call it 750 because that's what they started with.
I've used this company http://www.feathertex.com/index.htm to order bulk down from. I called to order it and asked lots of questions. They said their goose 100% down is 750fp. It's worked out pretty good for me, this down does have a stray feather or two but they're tiny and I can live with it due to their prices, which are very cheap!!
