    First solo trip

Well i just got back this morning frommy first solo trip. I just did a quick overniter. I went to Cave Run Lake here in Ky. I went on the Caney Trail which is a 9mile loop. You start on the Caney Trail and end on the Sheltowee Trace. It was a very quiet and peaceful trip. It was just me and my dog Bear(it was his first trip out ever).
I arrived at the trailhead and got all my gear together and off I went. There were alot of horse people there as this trail is popular with the horse folks. I hiked in about 1 to 2 mile and found the perfect site. It had great views of the lake and right below the site was like a gravel beach. I had planned to do some fishing while here, but somewhere between my car and my site I lost the handle off my fishing pole. I really didn't care though b/c after setting up camp My dog and I just went down by the lake and laid around being lazy and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Well here are some photos, and a video.

That looks like a great solo trip, thanks for sharing!

Those solo trips can be some of the most rewarding, eh? When you need to some time away, there's nothing quite like it.

    Solo is the best IMO.
Although, I do sense a conspiracy. Why is the hammock picture the only blurry one? Reminds me of all the UFO and Bigfoot pictures I've seen.

I was using my cell phone and it was taken not long after hiking in and setting up camp.

awesome trips Chris! Looks like you hit that jackpot with that location. Those are some beautiful shots of the water with the mist...even for a cell phone. How did bear do on his first outing? Did he @#$% in the woods? Sorry that just slipped out.

Thanks for the great trip report! I have come to really enjoy solo hiking-------infact I can tell when Im overdue for a solo trip-----I get kindof edgy and find my self thinking about the woods alot when I should be doing other things!
