    My winter pod system experiment

After watching some Shug I decided to try to put together my own winter pod system. Here's a list of the gear I used:

Feathered Friends 20° Swallow sleeping bag
    HG 0° Incubator UQ
    HG 0° Burrow TQ
    WB Travler hammock
    WB Travler sock

Because of how narrow the sleeping bag is and the high loft of the UQ I had to keep the UQ outside of the pod. I found by setting up the sleeping bag upside down I was able to stuff the hood inside to help prevent heat loss and to block any air from entering. Inside the sleeping bag I have enough room for my TQ without compressing the down and to wear additional layers. And finally I added some shock cord and mitten hooks to the UQ side loops to seal the gap.
Now to find sub zero temps to test it out.

I like it a lot. It's my go to winter hammock, the rest of the year I use a WBBB.

That's a really good idea. Is that yours or did you see that somewhere else? I've never seen shock cord over the top before. I'm definitely doing that. Thanks for posting your project. Stay warm! (no doubt!)

I could have seen it here. It just made sense to help reduce cold air from getting in with this set up. Thanks.
