    Tree Sap

My Claytor has been set up about halfway between the house and the river for 3 days now, and I noticed that the tarp is covered with sap...doesn't bother me, particularly, but it's pretty sticky, and I'm wondering if it will turn into God's own mess when I roll it up.

What is the HF experience with this?

There are a couple of threads already posted about this, and I'm sure someone (AS) will pop in with the links, but denatured alcohol will take it off.

butter or mayonnaise works amazingly to get pine sap out of dog fur, guess it could work for a tarp. then you could wash that off with soap and water.

I know it sounds weird, but next time you get sapped anywhere,
try some butter or mayo, it works like a charm.. devolves tree sap (pine sap in my case),
and then wash the butter off with dish soap. my vet told me about it when my golden retriever went rolling around in sap, and it works.. I used dog shampoo to clean the butter out of dog fur rather than dish soap.. and I haven't had to grin down a bear yet..
