    Dear Darrel,

    Thank you for your email.

I'm sorry but we do not currently have a back order date for the tarp, so I cannot really say when or if we will carry the item again. However, our inventory is constantly changing, so you may want to check back with us in the future.

If you have any questions please contact us.

I bought a Gear Guide 12'X12' tarp with poles here; http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/c....aspx?a=524744 but, I'm not as happy with it, as I'm with the cheaper 12'X12' tarp without poles. I was going to send it back but I saw there is some interest in it here so I thought I'd give forum members here first crack at it, before returning it since it's out of stock. If anyone wants it PM me, I'll sell it, open but unused for the price I paid (I think $39 but I'll check) plus shipping. I'm out hunting so I'm sorry if I don't get back to you right away.

So I also sent an email to Sportsmans Guide asking if they will bring the other one back. From the sounds of it though I'll likely get a standard canned response. I was thinking that I could purchase the other tarp that does not have a standard tieout at the ridgeline and modify it.

I was wondering if anyone has experience in using grommets instead of tieouts for adding attachment points? I was thinking of using a soldering iron to "melt" a hole at the ridgeline and then adding a grommet to it. Would it hold up on its own by melting and then adding the gromment, or should I use some extra nylon webbing that I have to reinforce the points? I'm asking because I don't have the space in my condo for a sewing machine and am trying to use materials that I already have.

I would resist that urge. Webbing loops distribute stress; grommets, otoh, concentrate it.

I bought this tarp for a trip back in January. It is huge (16ft from corner to corner). Last week, I sewed an extra tab in the center of each side so that I can hang it more like a winter tarp. I am going to use it this weekend on the Foothills Trail. We'll see how it goes!

Last month I ordered using the $19.97 link for Bargain Outfitters http://www.bargainoutfitters.com/net....aspx?a=328267
(still works. current price if you search the site is $29.97)

Shopping cart stated that it is backordered until March 14, 2011.
Used coupon BF2104 to get $5 off of $25, and also ordered the Ripstop jacket mentioned here:
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=24041
    http://www.bargainoutfitters.com/net...?a=446016&pn=1
    Grand total of $30.93 shipped

Have not received the tarp yet, but the jacket is decent, although a bit crinckly/noisy.

code BH222 is for free shipping on orders over $49. It was in the Nov 30 email.
Some codes list expiration dates, others don't.
I'm just pulling them from the emails that they send me every few days with specials.

    Here's another one:
