She has a very nice Australian made jacket that is lined and wind proof and goes all round her belly. I found it about a year ago at Home Goods, She also has a blaze orange jacket with a hood that doesn't cover her belly. The hood covers her head when she's curled up in a ball, but there's no belly cover. If its cold enough, I'll put both on her. I also have some quilted fabric that I bought that has a waterproof side that I lay on the ground with the waterproofing down and the quilted side up. I can cut a piece for you if you like---just give me an idea of how big it should be.

Suggestion for you guys who are arriving on Thursday after 1600:

Go over to Parking Lot #8 first and stash your Friday lunch and supper, Saturday breakfast and some water for Friday before you head over to Niederhoffer Lake. Will make your pack that much lighter for the hike back to PL8 on Friday morning.

Who's up for an out and back to Hidden Lake once we get set up at PL8 on Friday?

Okay.. I am thoroughly confused as to where we are camping when. So let me try.
Thursday- Niederhoffer
Friday- hike from Niederhoffer to PL#8, camp there.
Saturday- hike back to Niederhoffer, camp there.
Normally I would just show up and roll with the punches. But I have a friend coming out Friday afternoon and need to know where to send him. He's a newby to primitive camping so we's gotta break him in.
And is there a potluck Friday night?

Yes, this is the plan. I'm waiting at PL #8 until 1600 for those coming in from out of town who may have a hard time finding Neiderhoffer but who may have been to PL #8 at least once, so know where it is.

No pot luck unless you want one. 10 days ago the only folks I was certain of were me and two other guys. Three people does not a good pot luck make, so I canned the idea. Now we have a double handful, so its more doable, but I've been operating on the premise that we won't be having one so I have nothing to offer except a rosy disposition and a few old jokes most of your guys have heard before.

Looks like the weather is going to be glorious, with the exception of a very clod night tonight---but not as cold as originally anticipated. I'll be leaving here (Rosenberg) in a couple of hours and should reach PL#8 around 1400.

I was supposed to have an underquilt made for one of my +2 but I ran out of time. :/ I just have a floor full of shells and baffles.

If anyone has something warmer than my poorly made PLUQ, I'd be very appreciative!
