2 feet would probably be plenty. Easier to shorten it rather than lengthen it.

Ok, I think it will just be easiest to tie the HH Rope directly to the rings. So 2 feet is enough to leave? Another random question...I dont even have the Hammock yet, I ordered it on Monday night, how long does it usually take to get here?

I have an Exped Asym that I have converted to the ring system. It uses the stock ropes which are quite heavy. I used an anchor hitch with a couple of half hitches behind it and have had no problems with slippage at all.

    Good luck.

If you ordered directly from Hennessy, you should get your hammock pretty quickly.

Thanks. Is that like a week, or 3 days? The guy at Hennessy said that it would be about a week, but it seems every time I order something, they say that, and it always comes fast. Does that apply to this?

The guy at hennessy was Tom Hennessy. If he says a week it will be a week.

When he says a week and it comes sooner = happy customer.
When he says a couple days and it comes in a week or two = unhappy customer.

    Fishermans knot.

To join two ropes together, Triple fishermans knot. This is what we use to tie two climbing ropes together to rappel off of a long route. Also used to tie tippet to leader when fly fishing. A really useful and easy knot to know.
