I am interested, so is Carmela. I might need to leave real early on Sunday, so I would plan on driving up myself.

Sounds great. I've been in the mood for some fishing lately. The timing is ideal.
Count me in, I'll be coming down from Flagstaff.
te-wa, i have put it in my calendar, i will confirm when it gets closer. looks like there will be quit a few people coming, is anyone bringing a mini keg?
here's the deal: we can park at Airplane Flat campground and backpack in about 1.5 mile to a camping spot in the trees, near the creek. -or-
we can drive down the road from Valentine Ridge campground and stash a keg, make this a car camping thing, and still camp in the trees near the creek.
i dont even want to ask what everyone thinks of the latter idea..
I would be more for option one.
+1 for option #1.
Do you imagine the universe is agitated?

option #1 it is.. if you can call this backpacking. its fairly level the entire route.. and wide open.. check out this panorama near the trailhead:
Looks great Mike, should be a fun time. And our first cold hang of the hear methinks. You better hold onto one of your winter coats for yourself! No worries on the keg. The flasks we carry seem to do enough damage already.
Did the Cabin Loop trail up on the Mogollon rim 2 weeks ago. What a great area you've picked! It'll be fun to be below the Rim looking up. Missed the Northern Hang with Finn and crew a few weeks ago, gotta catch up on my HF hangs!!
