I've been watching this thread. Just hoping there would be a slim chance that I could get out to Arizona for this hangout and to meet up with all of you. I won't be able to make it
I'll be looking forward to the photos...

Yes, the creek water will be both filterable or treatable. No need to portage in your own water.
Unfortunately I will not likely be joining you this weekend. My sister told me that she would share elk meat if I helped guide a hunt for herself and her husband in early December. I will be scouting and hammocking in Northern Arizona this weekend. For those of you camping in AZ in the near future, please PM me because I would like to join you and learn more about gear. For those of you in Flagstaff, contact me for happy hour some time. Sorry that I cannot be there. I am not a vegetarian and cannot afford organic beef. I need elk meat.
If I lose 12 more ounces in this pack and gear I can bring one more beer.
Here's the latest weather forecast for the area. A warming trend - the overnight low prediction is now *only* 24 degrees. But with possible 20mph gusts. Better make sure you have a high coverage tarp!

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph.
tewa, i can't be there this weekend, i have to be present at a weding, thankfully it is not mine though.
Thank you for taking time to provide the weather update drewboy; that is good news.
My son and are looking forward to the trip and meeting those that choose to attend.
FWIW, we are still planning to pass through the Casino parking lot at 7:00 AM Saturday morning just to check in with everyone that may be there on the way north.
Does anyone have a sense of how many might show up at Canyon Creek? Its no big deal, I'm just curious.
me too, it looks like just a few people. i dont see anyone new signing up, and if you do show you need to look for a big yellow FJ cruiser truck in the parking lot of the Casino.
hope everyone is able to attend, this is a blue ribbon status fishing creek with nice scenery.
I'm also curious to a number count. I will not be meeting at the casino but will be leaving the fountain hills area a bit after 7 and driving up on my own. After turning off young road onto the service road I will meet y'all assuming the road is suitable for a car. I wont be spending the night but will do a day hike in and out. If the road becomes unsuitable for my car I will just enjoy the day on my own somewhere off of young road before returning to phoenix later that afternoon.
