    Cuben tarps and bridges

So I'm looking waaaaaaay into the future and considering saving up for a Cuben tarp. That weight-savings is just too scrumptious.

My question: is a standard cuben tarp with doors (11' ridgeline) big enough to accommodate a BMBH deluxe without poking the sides of the tarp? Or would I need to go for the ol Winter Palace?

I'm fairly certain I would be weeping like a lil schoolgirl if I punctured that sweet, sweet cuben in the field!

    Thanks!

With poles or pullouts you should be fine.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the strength to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

The beauty of a big tarp is you can pitch it high and wide making it so you have less chance of hitting the poles. BMBH is pretty narrow as far a bridges goes.

Thanks for the responses! I know it's kind of a rudimentary question, but I wanted to cover my bases. Still I'm the learning process and appreciate the insights!

If you contact Adam via email prior to order, he can set it up with the side pulls set up for a bridge hammock. They are adjusted for the wider spread.

I personally prefer the 12' ridgeline.

I know you don't want to think about possible punctures, but remember that cuben is much easier to repair in the field than silnylon, and a little patch makes it stronger than it was before.

I once made a bridge hammock where I used carbon fiber spreader bars. The first time that I used it was at Mt Sterling in November, so it was sort of cold. The first time that I shifted in the hammock the carbon fiber pole flexed(bad thing), it snapped and shot thru my cuben tarp.... Believe me, it was much easier fixing the tarp(gorilla tape) than the spreader bar. I still have the tarp and love the little black patch, but have gone back to gathered end hammocks.
