Wow. I had a great time! Thanks to Grannypat for sharing her campsite, and her excellent firebuilding skills. Great to see MadDog and Christy and their 4 legged companion. Glad my buddy Skipcurt could come by and visit. 2ply was kind enough to let Buddy drive the truck into the campsite area . Nice meeting/hiking with UrsaMajor and family. Glad to meet the other members that stopped by, but could not hang with us. Maybe next time. Hope the next time comes soon, and we have just as nice of weather.
Hope I can make the next one.
Bummed I couldn't make it.
Sounds like a good time was had by all. I was at the FL Hang for my first group hang but am looking forward to meeting some GA hangers. Hope to make the next one.
I'm not a good candidate to organize a hang because my schedule can change (job, kid stuff). I can probably make either of the last two weekends in Feb. At the very least, if we don't have another hang thread by then, I'll post one the week I'm going (or before) once I confirm I CAN go.
Chigger - hope you could make that. Yeah, gotta love the south in the winter, right? Like a box of chocolates?

Has anyone camped at Tallulah River campsite http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/conf/...a/?recid=10498
My wife and I hiked down the road from this site yesterday it's a nice site on the river. Good fishing and hiking near by.
Maybe some would like to camp here in Feb. Just a thought!
I have some pictures of the site I took yesterday, I could post if someone would like to see them.

For future hangs at Desoto, I want to note that we were visited by a ranger who told us that tents had to be on the pads. Ursamajor pointed out that they were hammocks, which didn't seem to make much difference. Because we were leaving the next day, the ranger didn't make us move.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!
