B/C he got them now
Yes, got to go tubing on River south of here. Hung up the hammock kit Saturday night, with DIY tarp, not total coverage or waterproof, but so much nicer than ground- Husband had some close encounters of the biting ant kind- perhaps I will get him hanging soon.
Notes I took form you were of your tarp hanging/configuration type- not able to implement due to restrcted space available. Next time, hopefully- am camping again this weekend (as part of Archery tournament- Long story) and will try with the 8x10 tarp/sunshade rather than the 5x8 diagonal used last weekend. or possibly both! together they should block 99.4% of the water.

@ Shug > Woooo buddy... 19leon73 from youtube here It was great bonding time and she really loves going to the woods with me, we are going out again, thinking about sending her to the scouts or some other organisation that does a lot of woodsy stuff She loves it.
@ SmokeHouse > absolutely right... there is nothing better....
@ Moski > it will happen when he realizes how cool hammocking is
@ Kermegan > Sounds like you had a great time, pretty funny to hear that the missus is the hammock'er while the hubby is on the ground
Cool Post Balo..those moments shared with family are the best ....I introduced my grandaughter to hammocking by seting two of them up in the backyard..problem was she wanted "my Blackbird" instead of the crazy creek I had set up for her....oh well I guess she knows a good thing when she sees it.
Love to see the father daughter hangs. It gives me inspiration. I think you did it right by making it simple.

Nice trip! That's a memory Emilia will never forget.
Been camping with the kids since they were less than a year old. I still love it. They do, too, although they have distractions now that they are teenagers. It was actually my son who introduced me to hanging after the counselors at his summer camp showed him their ENOs.
That's awesome. enjoy every second you can with her becuse it goes by so quickly. My kids are pretty much all grown up now and I'm not sure how that happened.

My son (7)loves camping and my daughter(5) is begging to go this coming Summer. I made her a hammock(Dora copy from another forum member), and need to make one for my son. Right now, he's tenting it because I want him to learn how to set one up on his own. Because of the wildlife in Oregon, I am reluctant to take 2 kids out by myself. I have always had a rule of one adult per child. I even did this back in Texas. My wife hates the idea of camping..until she gets out there..on the way home all she can talk about is next time we go. I just wish I could get her more motivated to go. Any suggestions?
