A Meetup group I used to backpack with limited it to 10-15 for overnight and longer trips. 10 was easy. 12 was fun. 15 was a gaggle. People wound up splitting up into groups of 8 or so and it became difficult for the event host to keep tabs. I think 10 is about as many as you'd really want backpacking IMHO.

10 sounds good to me
The Mau-Har midway campsite would not be able to comfortably handle more than 10 hammocks. 10 is for sure the right number for this trail.
Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.

Me and my friends go there every spring and fall. It's Alot of fun. Doubt I would ever do it in summer. Already crowded in colder temps. Can't imagine how crowded it gets in summer. Last Nov we had too look around to find a spot to hang that wasn't within 20ft of someone else's site. We often just walk down trail and find a set of trees away from the crowds.
