    Cottage vendors

I just ordered an ENO hammock and suspension system to start my hanging adventures. I have read a couple things about cottage vendors on the site and am considering canceling my order and going a different route. What are the advantages to a cottage vendor, who do you recommend and why. I would much rather support a smaller business that offers quality products. Is there a reviews area for these vendors. Thank you for all the input. Suggestions on hammock, suspensions, and tarps please. Thank you

Cancel..cancel is my recommendation. I would offer the following:

Dutchware: any of his hammocks, suspensions and tarp bling.
    WildernessLogics: tadpole tarp

You will have the best of gear with the same financial investment.

I'd go with just about any of the cottage guys before ENO. Not that ENO is a bad hammock or company. I just feel that the cottage guys are more on the leading edge. They use niftier suspensions and fabrics, IMO.

Not familiar with an eno hammock. I have a warbonnet blackbird which I love, a Hammeck Netty ordered to try out, I use the superfly from warbonnet, and the top and bottom quilt from Arrowhead. I have some quality products which I am very happy with, I have dutchware also. All the vendors have exceeded my expectations, and all have answered any questions I have asked. Great bunch of people.

I've ordered from war bonnet, arrowhead, and Dutch. Absolutely first rate service and products. You'll be happier with the cottage vendors!

Take a look at the vendors section. There are many more options, fabrics, price points, etc with the cottage vendors. Best thing would be to attend a group hang if there is one nearby. That way you can try out and see in person. If not possible, select a less expensive cottage vendor hammock and then practice and learn more before buying the more expensive ones.

Deciding on a tarp may involve thinking about your climate and when you plan to hang. Summer versus winter means smaller vs full tarp with doors. Also, size and weight based on backpacking or car camping. Again, cottage vendors. Some have multiple tarps available.

When I started, I looked at everyones profile to see what the majority was buying. I figured the majority probably knows best. Then you can add to your collection after getting your basic setup.

    Good luck!

Just went through the same thing. I went with warbonnet traveler with whoopie suspension and their tarp and bug net $235. I have done a lot of research I mean a ton. Good luck.

ENO hammocks are good but cancel your order. I would take a look at as many of the cottage vendors hammocks as you can. If you can't decide what you want call them up and find out what they suggest for you.
    Is it hang time yet?
