Official NC》Pisgah Winter Hang Trip Report

Wanted to thank Running Feather, GreaseDoc, Country Hang, and FireInMy Bones for making the Pisgah Winter Hang successful.

Also, special thanks to Mrs. Greasedoc for supplying a Spaghetti Caserole Thingy so delicious that neither a scrap nor a mere morsel was left. Not to mention the Fudge which also disappeared quickly!

Blackbalsam6214 dropped by to visit while we were away from camp on our waterfall hike. We watched him drive away as we descended the fs road from the other direction. ...... So we never got to meet. Drat!

However, the Party Sized bag of chips you left was consumed in your honor, Blackbalsam.

We enjoyed great weather for testing winter gear. Nights as low as 18° and one night both below freezing and moisture laden.

We dealt with wind gusts upto 20mph but not so much throughout the nights.

Days were sunny with cold mornings and afternoon temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s.
    It was awesome!

I'll add some pics n video soon. Meanwhile I'm looking forward to reading trip report posts by everyone who shared the weekend with us.

It was great weekend, and can't wait till the next time. Thanks for all the great fellowship and that wonderful bread. A day of perfect weather and water fall seeing in DuPont state forest was great. That was my first time in that area of the state. But not my last .

I'll try to work up a real short video testing out the new camera. It was great to see you all. Thanks again to GreeseDoc for finding and returning my gravity filter!

Well, we had some cold, we had some wind, we had some snow, and we had some frost. Most of all, we had fun.

Lottsa good food and a steady fire were key to staying warm.

First night was a bit daunting. We had a heavy frost, both inside and out, on our tarps.
