Anyone have luck with Zing-it tension knots?

I just got some 1.75mm zing-it and tested it out putting a siberian hitch on one end and an adjustable grip hitch on the other (like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hXAriNgw2M). After throwing a tarp over it to put some pressure on the line I noticed some sag. Has anyone had any luck using the grip hitch, or do you suggest something better that doesn't slip on 1.75mm zing-it?

Most people use prusiks with an extra wrap. Zing-it is too slippery for most knots. Hammockers favor it because it's lightweight and can be spliced. The manufacturer, Samson Rope, recommends splicing rather than knots.

Huh, I was wrong about the splicing. Samson says it's non-spliceable.

All I know is everybody on HF splices it till the cows come home.

Once the Samthane coating wears off, the prusiks won't slip.

Check out dejoha's no hardware continuous ridgeline (he doesn't recommend Zing-it for that method):

I've had better luck with a rolling hitch with an extra wrap on the inside and out, than with a tautline hitch. The rolling hitch puts more of a bend in the standing end and bites better.

I don't even use knots often with zing-it anymore though. I started using dutchware a while back. I still splice it 'till the cows come home though.

I'll try the rolling hitch and see if that does any better. Looks like I'll have to spring for some more dutch bling in the future. Thanks guys.

As Silvrsurfer said, once the coating wears a little, it will hold better.

I'll mess around with it a bit and see if that helps out. Thanks

    Extra wraps help as well.

I find the siberian hitch holds well, I do a truckers hitch on the other end to tension it and it holds really well with a couple slippery half hitches. I then have two prusiks ( 6 wraps ) to tension the tarp on the ridge line.

The answer is, Dutch bling. Makes things faster and easier IMHO.
