    Suspension replacement ASAP

Getting ready to leave for hiking trip and I was messing with Elephant Trunks on my Hennessy Hyperlite. My suspension line snapped where it went through the Elephant Trunk. As I leave in a few days I need to source some local line that is a sufficient temporary replacement. As I'm not sure I want to convert to a Whoopie system I was thinking of a temporary replacement line. I have a West Marine close by, can anyone recommend a specific line they carry.

    7/64 or 1/8 amsteel blue

Or contact Dutchwaregear.com or any one of the vendors like whoopislings.com and tell them what's up and they will get it to you asap.

Heck, we have enough hangers in Florida, if you're really in a bind, someone will drop some off to you.

If you don't do whoopsie slings you can pick up some 7/64 amsteel at west marine and just tie it into a 12" loop using triple fisherman knots. Do a standard larks head onto the end of the hammock to get a loop.

Hennesseys have the long line that you lash off to a strap don't they? Never used a real one. If that's the case pick a longer length of amsteel, tie a figure eight loop into one end and larks head that to the end of the hammock.

Send an email to Dutch. Five gets you ten he gets back to you before lunch, and you get a new suspension within two days. Possibly quicker if you get to him before noon.

    Hope it helps!

+1 on contacting Dutch. I'd bet that he has it in the mail before you decide it's what you want... scary fast service.
A hanging, though, was something different. I got to thinking. We hadn’t never been to nothing just to have a good time. A hanging was special and we was all getting to go.
