    Hanging the tarp...

Wimped out and didn't bring the BB to Washington. Ah well, they're keeping me busy cooking for the sis-in-law's wedding and I wouldn't have had time to mess with it anyway. But when I get home...

I have one of Brandon's hex tarps and was wondering about the best way to hang it. Is it best to give it a ridgeline, or should I just run directly from the tie-outs to the trees? Also, I presume it needs to be seam-sealed?

the edge binding on the rl makes it so the rl seam doesn't need sealing.

i just attach lines to all 6 pull tabs, no seperate rl for me, although some like to do it that way.

you can watch the superfly setup video (in the warbonnet forum) to see exactly how i do it if you want.

I'm planning for a trip next weekend and will finally get to test out the hammock and tarp, so I'll give that a try. I figure I can attach paracord to the tieouts ahead of time, then stick one rl cord out the back of the BB bag and the other out the front so I can set up the tarp quickly while the hammock's still in the back.

Flying home from Seattle (to NH) tomorrow night to be rejoined with my as yet unused hammock. Will wave to WarbonnetGuy when I'm over Ft. Collins.
