Smoked Meats, hammocks and camping is like Alex, Neil and Getty. Squib and Gresh should get that.

As it would have it I will not be alone. Hot showers, flush able toilets and an aggressive amount of groveling my lovely wife and daughter will also be attending.

Hope this all goes well, if so I may be able to make it a more apt family activity.

Anybody willing to rent an airplane and blanket the area in bug repellent from now until we leave at least 10x a day? Oh and do some sort of comet trail things that darpa can do to change the weather?
Glad the family is coming. We need more wives attending these hangs on occasion. As far as bug repellent, I will be spraying some Lavender around. I'll have the rose geranium spray if anyone needs it for tick repellant, and I'll have Badger anti bug balm, which is the bomb, if anyone needs some. Also I'll have a fan with me I'm willing to sell tou for your wife's ridgeline to make her comfy for sleeping

I'm glad you're bringing more family. Just remember when you slip back in that the gate locks at night. You can call us to come get you at the gate though.
Thanks, but it will be so late I'd hate to bother you. Combining a concert and a hammock hang is a first for us!

Can you tell from this pic, where we will be camped? You said sites 3 and 4, but which loop? Rolling View.jpg

well it's not on this map. You have to go down farther. Try this. http://www.ncparks.gov/Visit/parks/f...ollingview.pdf, It's the last half loop on the right off baptiste rd, Marked with P's back before the boat area at the end. We have the 1st 2nd sites when you turn in the second turn of the loop. There will be a sign at the turn in.

It can be a bit of a hike in from the gate.

Thanks for that map link: I see now. Looks like about a mile to hike in.

You can also park at the MTST trailhead parking lot about 1/4 mile before the gate on the left side.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

This is looking like a 90% probability as of now! I have been reluctant to give an actual yes due to this being works busy season but I really got to get into some woods asap!!! Plus a lake makes it all the better!

We are only 13 days away from the start of the great hang folks. Just want to remind everyone we are going to have a drink table set up. Please bring 2 liters of your favorite drink for everyone to share. It's gonna be summer. Everyone needs to be hydrated. I'll be providing cups. Also, if you have a canopy or pop up please feel free to bring it. We can set them over the tables to provide shade, or protection from rain should that happen. I am looking forward to seeing everyone. Lets get into the trees.
