Blackbird 1.1 SL vs 1.1 DL

In an attempt to lighten up and reduce pack space, I recently purchased a 1.7SL Traveler hammock. I like it, but I immediately missed my WBBB and especially the shelf.

So I'm wondering if I would be just as comfortable in a 1.1 SINGLE layer as I am with my 1.1 double layer. I'm 160lb, so according to the Warbonnet website it says I'm fine but may lose some of the flat lay. The weight savings is 6oz, so that's pretty good but not huge.

I'm sure it's a "try and see" deal, but has anyone tried BOTH the 1.1 SINGLE and 1.1 DOUBLE?

I have a 1.1 single and an old 1.0 double. Since I went to an UQ, I now carry the single all the time for the weight savings. I can tell no difference at all in the lay. BTW, I'm 175lbs or so.

I'm very much looking at a 1.1 single for weight reasons myself. I'm 5' 5" and about 175.

I like the single layer better, a bit more like floating for me.

I am 6' and 198 (today) and I love my 1.1SL. It has been my go-to hammock since 2011. I'll try others but always come back... G-Nut
