finally got the material in and got an old 50's Japanese sewing machine from a thrift shop. I plan on getting everything done this weekend so I should have a new thread up by Monday with how I went about it and I will have plenty of pictures of the whole process. once again thanks for all of the information.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but I am looking for a Climashield distributer, my usual place doesn't sell it anymore, where did you get the 5.0?

I picked up everything im using for my quilt on ripstopbytheroll.com i think at this time they only have 5.o in stock but they carry 2.5 3.6 and 5.0 apex and its about the best price i found. not sure where you would be able to find it in sweeden and i don't know if any of the places listed will ship there.

Any idea what the approximate temp rating on an underquilt using 2 layers of 6.0 APEX climashield would be?

2 layers of 6.0 would probably get you below 0F temps. from the research I've done my single layer 5.0 should be good around +20-30F with appropriate top insulation. the numbers im giving are strictly an educated guess based on the research I've done for my UQ. i haven't heard of anyone making a DL 6.0UQ so i don't have any solid number and everyone's different in the temp ranges that they like to sleep in.

Arrowhead Equipment list their single layer 5.0 Climashield New River under quilt at 25 degrees. I would agree with that but YMMV.

I think AHE uses 6.0 Apex.

I'm temp testing 2 layers of 5.0 tonight! Going to sew up a UQP today to help, but really hoping to be comfy at -10F. Will let you know if that's true or not.
