    Looking for Down Quilts

Hey fellas, I've been thinking about acquiring a top and bottom Down quilt for use in warmer months of the year. However, I'm on fixed income and have a limited budget. The new offerings of quilt vendor's seems to be out of my range. Does someone have a suggestion or two that may put me on the right tract?

    Looking for Down Quilts

You could always make one yourself theres are a lot of places to get diy supplies. Www.Ripstopbytheroll.com has some great prices on material. I sell some hardware like cord locks and such at www.keepcalmandhikeon.com. Or diygearsupply.com.

I also sell UQ and top quilt at reasonable prices send me a pm with what your budget might be and I'll see what I can do. It sounds like a 2 season torso length underquilt and a 2 season top quilt would work great for you for the summer months.

I don't know about cheap down UQs. You might pick up an old down bag or comforter at a thrift store and then convert it.

Paul with Arrowhead Equipment makes a relatively inexpensive synthetic quilt.

I agree with boomer, I would look at a synthetic from arrowhead equipment. It may not have the same appeal as down, but "down" and "budget" don't go together very well.

Try going to the second hand clothing stores. I found a 650 down couch quilt that was 72"x55" and made it into a very nice UQ. It should work to the upper 30's.

Down costs what down costs. You might get a discount buying used, or you can DIY.
