Drip strings on a webbing suspension

I just ordered a set of Dutches titanium cinch buckles and I'm going to try a webbing suspension for the first time ever. So here is my question Do you need a drip string or will the buckles be enough? I've also heard it helps to twist/spin the webbing to stop the water from running down the webbing. Where would the drip string go on this type of suspension, on the webbing or the continuous loop? Thanks

The buckles will be just fine.

it depends whether the buckles are under the tarp. mine (onrope buckles, not that it matters which type) are still covered by my tarp so I do not need additional drip lines as the strap hangs down from the buckles and serves the purpose.

Good deal! I only ask because even with other types of connection devices in the suspension I still need a drip line with Amsteel. Thanks

Never had a water problem with Dutch hooks either, but was a little concerned after I watched this video. Now I use a simple string hang like suggested. Maybe overkill, but for the little weight gives me peace of mind.

Great video just shows I'm not crazy. I have gotten wet, not bad but uncomfortable over whoopie hooks and have since used a string. I'm not giving up on a Amsteel suspension I've just wanted to try clinch buckles since day one. I think they may be for my winter rig or my daughter. Still if I put a string on the clinch buckle set up should I do it Between the buckle and hammock ?

That video is why I always orient my straps through the top of the buckle.
