    Hello from STL

    Hello all,

Easing my way into the transition from ground sleeping to hanging - just purchased my first hammock (thanks Dutch!) and am looking forward to getting out there. Will be doing a fair bit of hike/camping, but also hoping to kayak camp with my hammock - although I don't recall seeing too many trees on the normal gravel bar camp spots we normally hit (and don't want to trespass inland) - so we'll see.

Love all the information on this site, although I can see my wallet getting drained down the line when I make the investment in underquilts (especially if I buy for the wife and possibly the kids) ... fingers crossed that the powerball ticket I have is a winner

Hope to attend a midwest hang at some point this spring.

Also have been enjoying Criag's OT youtube videos and all of fronkey's videos. Hope to run into Craig on the trail one of these days to thank him for the enjoyment I have gotten out of watching his videos.

Welcome from the PNW. Fronkey & Shug both do great videos. You might consider becoming a "Donating Member" as they have a "Paddling" forum added.

Welcome from down the road in Farmington. Keep your eyes on the Midwest hangs thread. There seem to be regular hangs popping up close by.
