Well, er, um now that you mention it.... probably more than you would think.

Funny how your question is worded as a quilt with a hammock instead of how we normally see it - an insulated hammock. Same difference. As we get more acceptance for going the simple hammock route (vs. HH or WBBB, etc.) like with the Dutch hammocks, I think the idea makes more sense. For now, since I do have several hammocks, I'm happy to only need the one quilt. (as if I had just one, LOL)

Not a dumb question at all. Quite a few of us have been making insulated hammocks for years, and there are many different designs that work well.

Glad to see that I'm not insane even if I never saw the idea. I realized it would have a few compromises and yet it seems to have a good bit of merit. Also good to see another kayak camper on the forum.

Thanks for not making me feel like an idiot. <grin>

WOW there is a big difference in prices between the ones that are insulated. I think I would rather just have the versatility of separate pieces.

I can certainly understand your perspective. But, unless you are heavy into DIY, buying each of the comparable pieces puts you within $50 of a Bonefire™. I'm not sure of the prices of the other manufacturers.

Also, great references in your signature. I hope you understand the reference in the company name.

    On the price thing.
I freaked the first timebin looked at it. Go ahead and price out a hammock with integrated bug net, suspension included. Then price out a full coverage under quilt. Not so far out there.
