    HyperD 1.0 repair help needed

    Hey all,

I recently posted a thread on a diy TQ. I ran into a problem finishing it up. See in the pictures I got the seam ripper snagged on the outer shel of my TQ. This is so frustrating to have to fix a quilt I just built.

    It's a diygearsupply design if that's helpful.

So please send me some helpful ideas as to what I can do everyone!

Not real big...but I don't want it to grow

Hand sew it shut. Just sandwich the two sides of the cut together and hand sew them together. Think football laces; real tight loops.

    BTW.
If you go for Spinnaker Repair Tape don’t try to place a patch on the inside unless you rip a seam and can get a hand on the inside. You only got one chance It is sticky stuff!

You could take two pieces of scrap material finish off the edges (about 1/2 inch larger then tear). Slide one inside (secure with fabric glue or small piece of tape. Place second piece on top like a sandwich and hand stitch around perimeter with small whip stitches catching interior patch material. This would at structural integrity and possibly be less noticeable.

I have been very pleased with "Tenacious Tape" Some of our vendors sell it, REI and other outdoors gear stores. I have it in several colors. I am very impressed with how neatly it sealed my ooops.

I was asked to repair a down sleeping bag that had been emergency sealed with duct tape. The duct tape left sticky stuff all over the damaged and surrounding area. I cleaned it up applied Tenacious Tape, it is now a year later and very difficult to see where I applied the patch.
