    First Hammock outing

Decided to try out the hammock on Lake Murray this weekend! First hammock campout for me and Big Canoe! we took my son and his 2 and hiked down to Sandy Beach (Bundrick Island) on Lake Murray. It was a blast! Did learn you need more than 2 stakeouts on the tarp when the lake wind picks up. Getting pummeled by the tarp at 3 am is a rude awakening! the boys had to ground dwell this time, which made none of the 3 real happy. Kept it simple, hotdogs and s'mores over an open fire. My buddy's 6 year old said it best on Monday morning..."Can we do this every weekend!"

ps: tried out my new dutch clips and the worked great! Instead of sewing them on, I put a thin o-ring around the strap near the clip to keep it from falling off when handling. Don't know if it was neccesary though. Found out 16' straps are a little long for many applications!
