    JRB setup.

I have recently purchased a JRB Nest from a forum member and I think is/are a problem/question. I have asked Pan these questions but they have gone unanswered.
I have a HH Ultimate Survivor.

Size: How big is the Nest supposed to be? On my first test-hang when I aligned the slit on the Nest with the slit in the HH the nest only covers upto my midback and is uncomfortable. If I ignore the slit the Nest covers my torso (bum to neck) and is very comfortable. This latter setup seems ideal, but the position of the slit confuses me.

Attachments: Are there supposed to be attachment lines that come with a Nest? On my Nest there are only 4 small loops of material, plus 2 shock-cords for making the head & foot tighter. The 4 loops look like an ideal spot to attach bungee cords.

Here is another thought; I have the digital camo version of the HH, could I use my stock Asym tarp as a weathershield/windblock under my Nest to (a) improve cold-weather performance? And (b)cover-up the ugly Green of the Nest and allow me to stealth better?

Pan posted that he's gone on vacation. Perhaps contacting Smee will get a direct response quicker, in addition to the forum responses.

Hopefully someone with more experience with the nest will chime in soon, but I was under the impression that the nest was a full size underquilt, and should cover you from head to toe. If it's not, something weird is going on.

I am terribly sorry. I was unaware that he was gone. Thanks for the heads up.

    Email sent to Smee.

My nest covers from just beyond my feet to slightly above my head and I'm 5'8". Does not go much beyond those limits but it does align with the HH slit.

Attachment lines are separate items. JRB has them or you can rig your own bungee/shock cord lines.

Thank-you all for your quick and insightful answers. As many have suggested I am in fact an idiot.

The Nest does appear to be full-length. When holding the Nest up in the air it is taller then me, so I have obviously set the quilt up incorrectly. I will be adding my own suspension lines soon and will try my best to not goof up again. Sorry for any confusion and grief my ignorance has caused.

Nah, this is exactly the place to ask hammock gear questions that have you confused.
